I should have just titled this cursed painting 'water'... considering the pains it has given me.... >.>
Anyways, this was supposed to be a continuation of the 'Song of Harmonie' pic, a sort of acting out the event predicted, but since I ended up making this without looking at the original picture at all, it ended up a bit different. Izul, in the prediction appears to be looking very tattered, while in this painting, has somehow gotten a very strong armor. Ah well... predictions can't be totally accurate can they? *ahem*
Unnecessary story: Izul is a warrior priest (only priests in name, they're the High Priest's elite knights) of Harmonie, as well as one of the candidates for becoming one of the Guardians. Like the elemental spirits who are guardians of their summoners, the Guardians of Harmonie protect the city, as long as they live, the city cannot die. If any one of them shall fall, or choose to leave, they would immidiately be replaced by one of the successors. Not that the need has ever arisen for a replacement. Izul though has been known to cause trouble in the church; he has hardly hidden his dislike for the clergy, remaining only because of his friends.
Hem.. all this hardly goes with the picture... Basically, a scene from the troubles predicted in the song. -.-
On a sidenote, this picture seems to have a life of its own. Painting in the monsoon season with salt is a bad idea. Never repeat this great folly! It refused to dry for two weeks, the colors seeming to take a life of their own with the changing, spreading, and finally settling down to this state. Now the colors have started flaking off () aaand... I've fixed it like dry pastels? So if it looks like a giant blue blob, please excuse. The liney texture has been most graciously added by my overly artistic scanner.

Warrior of Harmonie by ~Yakra is only one of many pieces that have a story behind them. Don't take my word for it; give her gallery a shot! (

He he... it actually became extra 'weathered' because of the monsoon rains and my silly use of salt! But thanks a lot! I'm glad you liked it. It's often very surprising to see how this was so liked, considering it was just a sketch, a part of a painting that got doomed to meh scraps!
The picture is beautiful, I love the way the blue colour engulfs them and blue is a good colour to describe harmony. The story is a god idea to do, gives the picture more depth when you create it yourself.
Really nice piece.
